Qualification: BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations or equivalent

Salary: ₹6,00,000 – ₹8,00,000 LPA

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Supply Chain Head to manage and optimize the complete supply chain function of our manufacturing organization.

The candidate will be responsible for Procurement, Supplier Management, Material Planning, Inventory Control, Logistics, Outsourcing Coordination and On-Time Delivery. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in managing manufacturing suppliers and coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain Management

- Manage the complete supply chain process from material planning to final delivery.
- Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components and bought-out items.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality, Stores, Planning and Dispatch teams.
- Identify supply chain bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure uninterrupted material flow to meet production and customer requirements.

2. Procurement & Purchase Management

- Plan and manage procurement activities based on production and customer requirements.
- Develop reliable sources for raw materials, components and services.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times and commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Monitor purchase orders and ensure timely deliveries.




- Evaluate suppliers based on Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and alternate sourcing.

3. Supplier Management & Development

- Develop and maintain a strong supplier network.
- Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery and cost.
- Coordinate with Supplier Development and Quality teams for supplier improvement.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews.
- Ensure suppliers have adequate capacity to meet current and future requirements.
- Develop alternate suppliers for critical materials and components to reduce supply risks.

4. Material Planning & Inventory Management

- Ensure effective material planning based on production schedules and customer demand.
- Monitor inventory levels and avoid excess or shortage of materials.
- Establish appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Monitor slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
- Improve inventory turnover and reduce working capital.
- Ensure proper material identification, storage and traceability.

5. Outsourcing & Subcontracting Management

- Manage outsourced manufacturing and subcontracting activities.
- Coordinate with vendors for casting, machining, fabrication, forging, welding, heat treatment, painting and other processes.




- Ensure outsourced components are delivered as per required quality and schedule.
- Monitor vendor capacity, production status and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with Quality and Production teams to resolve supplier-related issues.

6. Logistics & Dispatch

- Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Ensure timely movement of materials and finished goods.
- Coordinate transportation and logistics partners.
- Optimize transportation costs and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments and resolve delays or logistics issues.
- Ensure proper packaging and documentation for dispatch.

7. Cost Optimization

- Identify opportunities for procurement and supply chain cost reduction.
- Negotiate better commercial terms with suppliers.
- Develop alternate sources and cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Reduce excess inventory, transportation costs and material wastage.
- Monitor and report supply chain cost-saving initiatives.

8. Team Management

- Lead and manage the Supply Chain, Purchase, Stores and Logistics teams.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Train and develop team members.
- Establish clear processes and accountability within the supply chain function.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and follow up on action items.

9. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

- Identify potential supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
- Maintain alternate sources for critical materials and components.
- Monitor supplier capacity and financial/operational risks where appropriate.
- Implement Lean, 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Improve supply chain efficiency, responsiveness and reliability
