Job Description
15+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with robust expertise in welding
nand car body quality inspection.
nEducational Qualification
nBachelors Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile
nEngineering, or Production Engineering.
nCertifications
nInternational Welding Engineer (IWE) certification preferred.
nEN Certified NDT Level II in:
no Visual Testing (VT)
no Penetrant Testing (PT)
nPreferred Industry Background
nRail manufacturing, rolling stock, or rail car body manufacturing.
nCandidates with hands-on experience in rail car body inspection will be
npreferred.
nKey Responsibilities
nPerform Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) of complete rail car bodies to ensure
ncompliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
nConduct comprehensive visual inspection of car body structures, welds, and
nassembled components.
nInspect welding quality as per approved welding procedures, drawings, and
napplicable standards.
nVerify weld integrity using Visual Testing (VT) and Penetrant Testing (PT)
ntechniques.




nInspect and validate joint sealing, sealing quality, and finishing to ensure water-
ntightness and aesthetic requirements.
nCarry out full car body inspections covering dimensional, cosmetic, structural,
nand functional quality aspects.
nIdentify, document, and report quality defects, deviations, and non-conformities.
nCoordinate with production, welding, and engineering teams for defect
nrectification and closure.
nEnsure compliance with customer specifications, quality procedures, and
nrelevant international standards.
nMaintain inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
nSupport customer inspections, audits, and final acceptance activities.
nRequired Skills & Competencies
nStrong knowledge of welding processes, weld defects, and welding quality
nstandards.
nHands-on experience in weld inspection and NDT (VT/PT).
nExpertise in car body inspection, joint sealing ins
