Position: Senior Engineer – Wiring Harness Design & Development

About the Company:

Sudarshan Auto Engineering is an established manufacturer of automotive, EV and industrial wiring harnesses. As part of our expansion into larger and more complex electric-vehicle and four-wheeler wiring harnesses, we are looking for an experienced Wiring Harness Development Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Study customer drawings, electrical schematics, specifications and RFQ requirements

• Develop complete LV and HV wiring harnesses for EV and four-wheeler applications

• Prepare harness drawings, BOMs, wire lists, cutting charts and process documents

• Select suitable wires, cables, connectors, terminals, seals, sleeves, tapes, grommets and protection materials

• Conduct connector and terminal compatibility checks

• Calculate wire sizes, voltage drop, current-carrying capacity and circuit protection requirements

• Coordinate prototype development, sample manufacturing, testing and customer approval

• Prepare development timelines and track projects from RFQ to series production

• Prepare and support DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP and APQP documentation

• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, Production, Quality, Purchase and Tooling teams

• Support costing,



VA/VE activities and localization of components

• Resolve prototype, fitment, electrical and vehicle-level issues

• Ensure smooth handover of newly developed products to series production

Required Experience:

• Minimum 4–8 years of hands-on wiring harness development experience

• Experience in automotive four-wheeler or electric-vehicle wiring harnesses is essential

• Experience with complete vehicle harnesses, battery harnesses, HV/LV harnesses, charging harnesses or power-distribution systems will be preferred

• Good knowledge of automotive wires, terminals, connectors, seals, crimping, routing and harness-protection systems

• Understanding of IP protection, HV safety, shielding, grounding and EMC requirements

• Working knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA and automotive drawing standards

• Ability to independently handle a project from drawing study to series-production handover

Qualification:

BE/BTech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Automobile or Mechanical Engineering

Preferred Candidate:

Candidates presently or previously working with an automotive wiring-harness manufacturer, EV OEM, four-wheeler OEM or Tier-1 automotive supplier will be preferred.

Compensation:

Salary will be competitive and based on relevant wiring-harness experience, technical capability and current CTC.
