Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Senior Plastic Mould Designer with 5+ years of expertise in designing high-precision plastic injection moulds for Caps & Closures. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of high-cavitation moulds, hot runner systems, cooling layouts, and mould manufacturing processes. The candidate will be responsible for delivering innovative, cost-effective, and production-friendly mould designs while working closely with the Tool Room, Production, and Quality teams.

- Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop high-precision injection and compression moulds for plastic caps and closures.
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using UG NX (preferred) or AutoCAD.
- Design high-cavitation moulds (16/32/48/64 cavities or above).
- Develop hot runner systems, cooling layouts, ejection systems, and other mould mechanisms.
- Optimize mould designs for improved productivity, shorter cycle time, and longer tool life.
- Coordinate with Tool Room, CNC, Production, and Quality departments during manufacturing and mould trials.
- Analyze trial reports and implement design improvements to enhance mould performance.
- Ensure moulds are easy to manufacture, assemble, and maintain.
- Prepare BOMs, assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, and maintain design documentation.
- Follow company design standards, engineering best practices, and project timelines.




- Required SkillsMinimum 5 years of experience in Plastic Injection Mould Design.
- Mandatory experience in Caps & Closures Mould Design.
- Strong knowledge of high-cavitation moulds and injection moulding processes.
- Experience with Hot Runner Systems (HRS, Husky, Yudo, Mold-Masters, etc.).
- Proficiency in UG NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD.
- Positive understanding of mould materials, cooling systems, heat treatment, machining processes, and GD&T.;
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Educational QualificationDiploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, Plastic Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred CandidateExperience in the Packaging, FMCG, Beverage, or Pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of mould flow analysis and cycle time optimization.
- Ability to mentor junior designers and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Timely completion of mould designs.
