Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions invites applications from experienced and accomplished academic professionals for the position of Principal with a specialisation in Computer Science & Engineering .
We are seeking a leader who has worked with renowned private universities or colleges and brings a strong record of academic administration, faculty development, research, industry engagement, and institutional growth. The selected candidate will lead the Engineering institution, with particular emphasis on strengthening Computer Science & Engineering and emerging technology programmes, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Academic qualifications, minimum experience, research credentials, and other eligibility requirements must be strictly in accordance with the prevailing AICTE norms applicable to the post of Principal , along with applicable affiliating university requirements.
- Candidates must have an academic specialisation relevant to Computer Science & Engineering and fulfil the prescribed degree requirements.
- Prior experience working with renowned private universities or reputed private engineering colleges is essential.
- A demonstrated record of academic leadership and administrative responsibility is required. Experience as a Principal, Director, Dean, or Head of Department will be preferred, subject to meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria.
- Candidates should demonstrate measurable contributions to academic quality, faculty performance, research, student outcomes, and institutional development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Academic Leadership & Quality
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Engineering institution.
- Oversee academic planning, timetables, teaching delivery, examinations, and adherence to the academic calendar.
- Strengthen outcome-based education, practical learning, interdisciplinary projects, and academic monitoring.
- Support curriculum enrichment in line with university requirements and evolving industry needs.
2. Computer Science & Emerging Technologies
- Strengthen programmes in Computer Science & Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.
- Promote coding proficiency, project-based learning, hackathons, technical competitions, and relevant certifications.
- Guide the development and effective utilisation of laboratories and computing infrastructure.
3. Faculty Recruitment & Development
- Assess faculty requirements and support the recruitment of qualified teaching professionals.
- Mentor faculty members and establish clear expectations for teaching, research, and institutional responsibilities.
- Conduct performance reviews and promote faculty development programmes, technical training, and collaborative learning.
4. Research & Innovation
- Encourage quality publications, funded research proposals, consultancy, patents, and innovation.
- Build a research-oriented environment for faculty and students.
- Develop academic collaborations with universities, research organisations, and industry partners.
5. Compliance & Accreditation
- Ensure adherence to applicable AICTE regulations, affiliating university requirements, and institutional policies.
- Lead preparation for inspections, academic audits, and accreditation processes, including NBA/NAAC, as applicable.
- Maintain accurate academic records, faculty documentation, and compliance reports.
6. Industry Collaboration & Student Outcomes
- Build meaningful partnerships for internships, live projects,
expert sessions, industrial visits, and placement opportunities.
- Work closely with the Training & Placement team to improve students’ technical competence and employability.
- Strengthen student mentoring, attendance, academic progression, discipline, and grievance resolution.
7. Administration & Institutional Development
- Coordinate with Management on academic priorities, staffing, infrastructure, budgets, and development plans.
- Work with admissions and outreach teams to communicate programme strengths and support student counselling.
- Establish clear reporting systems and regularly review progress against agreed institutional goals.
- Promote a professional, accountable, and collaborative campus environment.
