Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) / Nominations
SCO Chair on Shared Buddhist Heritage
Nalanda University, an internationally acclaimed institution of higher learning under the
- aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, invites Expressions of Interest
- (EOI) / nominations from distinguished Indian scholars for the prestigious SCO Chair on
Shared Buddhist Heritage.
This Chair has been instituted as a significant academic initiative aligned with India’s
- engagement with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), aiming to promote research,
- dialogue, and academic collaboration on shared Buddhist heritage across SCO member
- countries.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be an eminent scholar of Indian nationality.
- Must hold the position of Professor or equivalent in a recognized institution of higher
- education.- Demonstrated expertise and significant contribution in the field of Buddhist Studies
- or allied disciplines.- Minimum 8-10 years of experience at the level of Professor.
- Age limit between 55 and 75 years.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The selected Chair will be expected to:
- Undertake high-quality research on themes related to shared Buddhist heritage.
- Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and academic programmes.
- Foster international academic collaboration among SCO member states.
- Contribute to policy and scholarly discourse in the domain.
Emoluments and Tenure:
- Consolidated remuneration of ₹3,00,000/- per month.
- Extra benefits and entitlements as per University norms.
