We’re Hiring: Fleet Manager – Coal Transportation & Site Operations

Role: Full-Time | On-Site

We are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager – Coal Transportation & Site Operations to take complete ownership of our coal transportation operations in Madhya Pradesh.

This is a target-driven, safety-focused and P&L; responsible role . The candidate will be responsible for managing the complete site operation including fleet, drivers, maintenance, productivity, customer coordination, cost control and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end coal transportation operations from loading point/mine to plant, stockyard or unloading point.

• Achieve daily and monthly tonnage targets and required trips per vehicle.

• Plan daily vehicle deployment and ensure maximum fleet utilisation.

• Maintain high fleet availability with minimum breakdown and downtime.

• Manage complete driver operations including recruitment support, allocation, attendance, shifts, replacements, discipline and productivity.

• Monitor vehicle movement through GPS and fleet tracking systems .

• Control vehicle turnaround time, waiting time, route deviation and idle time.

• Coordinate preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, tyres and spare requirements.

• Monitor diesel consumption, KMPL, fuel variance and pilferage controls .

• Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, PPE, speed limits, fatigue management and defensive driving practices .

• Conduct toolbox talks, safety reviews and accident/near-miss investigations.

• Coordinate closely with customer, mine, plant, weighbridge, loading and unloading teams.

• Monitor payload, weighment, trips and transported tonnage.

• Maintain vehicle-wise productivity and operating cost analysis.

• Take ownership of site-level P&L; , including revenue,



fuel, drivers, maintenance, tyres, manpower, penalties and other operating costs.

• Control avoidable penalties, detention and operational losses.

• Support trip reconciliation, documentation, billing and customer quantity reconciliation.

• Prepare daily and monthly MIS covering target vs achievement, fleet availability, trips, tonnage, fuel, breakdowns, safety and profitability .

• Lead supervisors, drivers, maintenance and site operations teams.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of experience in fleet, mining, coal or bulk transportation operations preferred.

• Strong experience managing tippers, trailers or heavy commercial vehicle fleets .

• Hands-on knowledge of coal/mining transportation operations.

• Strong driver and manpower management capability.

• Understanding of vehicle maintenance, fuel management and fleet costing.

• Ability to independently manage targets, customer operations and site P&L; .

• Strong leadership, Excel, MIS and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable working in a 24x7 site-based transportation setting in Madhya Pradesh .
