Role Overview

The Mechanical Draftsman / Designer will be responsible for preparing accurate 2D and 3D models, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings to support manufacturing and installation. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, production, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Drafting

- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Develop fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and part drawings.
- Prepare exploded views and sectional drawings for complex machinery.
- Ensure dimensioning, tolerances, and material specifications are clearly defined.

Technical Interpretation

- Convert conceptual sketches and engineering inputs into accurate technical drawings.
- Interpret technical specifications and project requirements precisely.
- Apply GD&T; standards where required.

Documentation & BOM

- Prepare detailed Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Maintain organized drawing records and revision history.




- Ensure documentation is aligned with production and procurement needs.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with:

- Mechanical Engineers
- Production & Fabrication Teams
- Quality Control
- Site Engineers

Resolve design-related issues during manufacturing.

- Compliance & Quality Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and company guidelines.
- Follow safety norms and manufacturing best practices.
- Support quality inspections when required.

Site Support

- Conduct site visits for measurement verification.
- Assist in design validation and installation support when needed.

Qualifications

- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial machinery drafting
- Solid proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of sheet metal design and heavy fabrication
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical components
