Surface Grinder / Surface Grinding Machine OperatorJob SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Surface Grinder / Surface Grinding Machine Operator who can operate and set up surface grinding machines to achieve accurate dimensions, smooth surface finish, and required tolerances as per technical drawings and specifications.

- Key ResponsibilitiesOperate surface grinding machines for precision grinding of metal components.
- Set up the machine, grinding wheel, workpiece, and fixtures according to job requirements.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Perform grinding operations to achieve required size, flatness, parallelism, and surface finish.
- Select and dress grinding wheels as per material and job requirements.
- Measure components using vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Check finished components for dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain required accuracy.
- Identify and rectify basic grinding defects such as uneven grinding, burn marks, incorrect dimensions, and poor surface finish.
- Maintain proper machine settings and ensure minimum material wastage.
- Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance of the machine.




- Follow production targets, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping around the machine and work area.
- Coordinate with the Production, Quality, and Tool Room teams when required.
- RequirementsITI/Diploma in Fitter, Machinist, Tool & Die, or related trade preferred.
- Hands-on experience operating Surface Grinding Machines is preferred.
- Valuable knowledge of grinding operations, machine settings, and grinding wheels.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensions/tolerances.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to maintain required accuracy and surface finish.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and machine maintenance knowledge.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing/production environment.

Preferred ExperienceCandidates with experience in precision engineering, tool room, die/mould manufacturing, automotive components, or CNC/production manufacturing will be preferred.
