Job Purpose

The Elder Caregiver is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and personalised care to senior citizens. The caregiver supports elderly individuals with their daily activities, personal care, mobility, health-related needs, and emotional well-being while ensuring their dignity, comfort, safety, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

Assist elderly individuals with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.

Support seniors with walking, mobility, transfers, and positioning.

Assist with feeding, hydration, and meal preparation as required.

Provide medication reminders as per instructions from the family or medical team.

Observe and report changes in the senior’s health, behaviour, mood, appetite, sleep, or mobility.

Maintain cleanliness and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the senior.

Provide companionship and encourage conversation, recreational activities, and social interaction.

Accompany seniors to doctor appointments, hospitals, and other medical visits when required.

Support seniors during post-hospitalisation care and rehabilitation as per professional guidance.

Provide appropriate support to seniors with dementia and memory-related conditions, if trained.





Maintain basic daily care records and communicate important updates to the supervisor or family.

Respond appropriately to emergencies and immediately inform the concerned person.

Respect the senior’s privacy, dignity, preferences, and personal choices at all times.

Required Skills

The candidate should be compassionate, patient, responsible, trustworthy, and respectful towards elderly individuals. Good communication and interpersonal skills are important. The candidate should be physically fit and comfortable assisting seniors with mobility and personal care. The ability to work independently and as part of a care team is essential.

Qualification & Experience

Minimum 8th standard preferred.

Caregiver / Elder Care training certification preferred.

Previous experience in elder care, homecare, hospitals, or nursing support will be an advantage.

Freshers who have completed relevant caregiver training may also be considered.

Willingness to work in 12-hour or 24-hour shifts, depending on the care requirement.

Key Objective

The primary objective of an Elder Caregiver is to ensure that every senior citizen receives protected, respectful, compassionate, and personalised care, enabling them to live with dignity, comfort, happiness, and the best possible quality of life.
