Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to determine work procedures.
- Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated metal parts and components to build or repair machinery. [1]
- Align and adjust machinery parts, shafts, and bearings using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and dial indicators. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic equipment to minimize downtime. [1]
- Diagnose mechanical faults, identify root causes of equipment failures, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
- Operate workshop machinery including lathe machines, drilling machines, grinders, and welding equipment to fabricate or modify parts. [1, 2, 3]
- Document maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and time spent on tasks. [1]
- Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). [1]

Required Skills and Qualifications





- Certificate or Diploma in Fitter trade from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or equivalent vocational school.
- Proven experience as a mechanical fitter or maintenance technician in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Strong proficiency in reading and understanding mechanical blueprints and technical schematics.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems.
- Valuable physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

- Valid certification in welding (ARC/MIG/TIG) or machining.
- Experience working with automated machinery or CNC equipment.
