Role & Responsibilities

- Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies as per project requirements.

- Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.

- Apply basic GD&T; and engineering drawing standards.

- Design components considering manufacturability, assembly and cost requirements.

- Prepare and maintain BOMs and engineering documentation.

- Coordinate with production, quality and manufacturing teams to resolve design-related issues.

- Support prototype development and design validation activities.

- Make design modifications based on customer and manufacturing requirements.

- Understand and incorporate sheet metal fabrication processes such as laser cutting, bending, punching and welding.

- Support senior engineers in product development and design improvement activities.

- Maintain design documentation and ensure drawings are updated as per engineering changes.

1. Preferred Candidate Profile

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 2-4 years of relevant experience in Sheet Metal Design.

- Basic to good knowledge of sheet metal component and assembly design.

- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks / CATIA / Creo / AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.

- Good understanding of 3D modeling and 2D manufacturing drawings.

- Basic knowledge of GD&T;, DFM and engineering drawing standards.

- Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending and welding.

- Ability to understand design requirements and convert them into manufacturable components.

- Valuable problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Willingness to learn and work with cross-functional teams.

- Good communication and coordination skills.

- Candidates with experience in automotive, auto components, industrial equipment or manufacturing industries will be preferred.
