We are looking for a VP / SVP – Finance to lead the organization's finance charter across financial controllership, accounting, financial reporting, taxation, audit, corporate finance, FP&A;, business finance, financial governance and strategic decision support. This is a senior leadership position requiring a hands-on finance operator who understands the numbers deeply while also being able to operate as a strategic partner to the CEO and business leadership.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in Robust MNCs’/ Big 4 / audit / assurance, followed by significant experience in fintech, financial services or a high-growth technology organization.

We are specifically looking for someone who has progressed from technical finance and controllership into broader business and strategic finance leadership.

What would you do at Khatabook?

- Finance Leadership & Strategy: Own the overall finance function, drive scalable finance operations, and partner with the CEO and leadership team on strategy, profitability, cost management and financial decisions.
- Controllership & Reporting: Lead accounting, financial closure, reporting, reconciliations, controls and process automation, ensuring accuracy, integrity and timely reporting.
- Audit, Governance & Controls: Oversee statutory/internal audits, strengthen financial controls and governance, identify control gaps, and drive timely remediation.
- Corporate Finance & FP&A;: Lead AOP, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, business reviews, variance analysis, KPI tracking, unit economics and scenario planning.
- Business Finance: Partner with business and functional leaders on financial evaluation of products, partnerships and strategic initiatives, while driving financial ownership across teams. Also, lead negotiations with vendors for availing optimal commercials.
- Tax & Regulatory Finance: Oversee direct/indirect taxation, statutory compliance and finance-related regulatory matters,



including evaluation of tax and financial implications of new structures and transactions.
- Fintech / Financial Services Finance: Drive robust financial reporting and reconciliations across lending and financial-services businesses, while partnering with Product, Risk and Operations on financial risks and scalability.
- Treasury & Cash Flow: Own cash-flow forecasting, liquidity, working capital visibility, banking relationships and capital planning.
- Board & Leadership Reporting: Provide CEO, leadership and board with clear, forward-looking insights on financial performance, risks, opportunities and strategic priorities.
- Restructuring: Lead finance related aspects of corporate restructuring and collaborate with external consultants and lawyers to bring such endeavors to fruition, as and when required
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team across controllership, FP&A;, business finance and accounting, fostering strong ownership, analytical rigor and financial discipline.

What are we looking for? A senior finance leader who brings a strong blend of Controllership, Corporate Finance, Business Finance, Governance, and Strategic Finance. The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable deep-diving into financial statements, controls, compliance and governance while partnering closely with the CEO and leadership team on business strategy, profitability, growth, and long-term value creation. In short, we need someone who can own the numbers, challenge the business, and shape the strategy.

- CA-qualified finance leader with 10–14 years of overall experience,



preferably with a strong Big 4 audit / assurance / consulting foundation.
- Significant post-Big-4 experience across corporate finance, controllership, FP&A;, business finance or broader finance leadership.
- Strong preference for experience in fintech, NBFC, digital lending, payments, financial services or technology.
- Strong expertise in financial closure, reporting, statutory audits, internal controls, accounting, taxation and financial governance.
- Proven capabilities in financial modelling, forecasting, AOP, budgeting and business performance management.
- Experience partnering directly with CEOs, founders and senior leadership on financial and strategic decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing finance teams.
