Company Description Apprentice is a personal AI that learns how individuals work, focusing on their standards, methods, preferences, and work context rather than generic intelligence. By learning from existing work and live corrections, Apprentice identifies patterns in how people operate and applies that understanding to ongoing collaboration. Its voice-first interface enables natural interaction with an AI agent across existing files and applications, while keeping files, memory, and indexes on the user’s device.

A bring-your-own-key setup lets users connect directly to preferred AI providers, supporting flexibility and control. Apprentice aims to build a persistent intelligence layer that carries its understanding across devices, models, and applications, and is currently in beta on macOS.

Role Description This is a part-time, hybrid User Interface Designer role based in New Delhi, with flexibility for some work from home.

The User Interface

Designer will create intuitive, visually appealing interfaces for Apprentice’s voice-first and multi-device experiences, ensuring consistency across platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing UI layouts, building high-fidelity mockups, collaborating with product and engineering teams, and refining designs based on user feedback and usability insights.



The role also involves contributing to design systems, ensuring accessibility, and aligning interface decisions with core product goals. The designer will work closely with UX, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive and user-centered interfaces.

Qualifications

- Strong User Interface Design and Visual Design skills, with the ability to create clean, up-to-date, and accessible interfaces.
- Experience producing UI Mockups and interactive prototypes using contemporary design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Understanding of User Experience (UX) principles, including user flows, information architecture, and usability best practices.
- Basic to intermediate Front-End Development familiarity (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SwiftUI) to collaborate effectively with engineering.
- Portfolio demonstrating UI work for digital products, ideally including complex or AI-driven tools.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup from New Delhi, manage part-time hours responsibly, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
- Experience with design systems, responsive design, and accessibility standards (WCAG) is beneficial.
- Relevant education or equivalent practical experience in design, HCI, or a related field is preferred.
