Role & responsibilities

- Review and underwrite U.S. Non-QM mortgage loans in accordance with investor, lender and company guidelines.

- Analyze borrower income, assets, credit, liabilities and overall profile to determine loan eligibility.

- Underwrite Non-QM products including DSCR, Bank Statement, Asset Depletion, P&L;/1099, Foreign National, and other alternative-income programs.

- Review loan files for completeness, accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines.

- Analyze complex income documentation, including bank statements, tax returns, P&L; statements, 1099s, and other supporting documents.

- Identify potential risks, discrepancies, and red flags and determine appropriate conditions or resolutions.

- Issue loan decisions, conditions and approvals/denials within established turnaround times.

- Review and explicit conditions submitted by processors and other stakeholders.





- Ensure all underwriting decisions are well documented and supported by applicable guidelines.

- Communicate effectively with processors, loan officers, account managers and other internal teams to resolve loan-level issues.

- Maintain strong quality and accuracy while meeting productivity and SLA/TAT expectations.

- Stay updated on changes to Non-QM guidelines, investor requirements, and underwriting policies.

- For SME-level candidates, provide guidance and support to junior underwriters and assist with complex or escalated files.

- Perform QC/review of underwriting decisions when required and help identify recurring issues or training opportunities.

Preferred candidate profile

- Only Candidates with hands-on experience in U.S. mortgage underwriting and Non-QM products will be considered.
