Role Description The Typesetting Expert is responsible for converting educational content into well-structured, visually consistent, and publication-ready formats. In this remote role, the individual will format textbooks, study guides, solution manuals, and other learning materials according to predefined templates and style guidelines.

Day-to-day tasks include organizing text and equations, applying typographic standards, ensuring accurate pagination, and maintaining consistency in headings, tables, figures, and references.

The Typesetting

Expert will collaborate with content authors, editors,



and subject matter experts to resolve layout issues and ensure materials are clear, accessible, and ready for print or digital distribution. This position also involves performing quality checks on formatted documents and preparing final files for various output platforms.

Qualifications

- Strong typesetting and layout skills using tools such as LaTeX, InDesign, or similar publishing software.
- Proficiency in handling mathematical and scientific notation, formulas, and technical diagrams.
- Attention to detail in typography, spacing, alignment, and document structure.
- Ability to interpret style guides and apply consistent formatting across large volumes of content.
- Experience working with educational or academic materials, such as textbooks or solution manuals.
- Good communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, editors, and content creators in a remote environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Publishing, Design, Education, or related discipline) or equivalent professional experience.
- Familiarity with digital publishing formats (PDF, ePub, web-based content) is an advantage.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and supporting educators through well-presented learning materials.
