Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Tool Room - Surface Grinding and Wire Cutting Operator based in Chengalpattu. The operator will set up, operate, and maintain surface grinding and wire cutting machines for precision tooling and components, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings and tolerance specifications.

Responsibilities include selecting appropriate tools and fixtures, performing accurate measurements and inspections,



and carrying out routine preventive maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition. The role involves diagnosing machining issues, adjusting machine parameters to improve quality and efficiency, and collaborating with engineers, supervisors, and quality teams to meet production targets. The operator will also follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and document production activities and quality checks as required.

Qualifications

- Strong machining skills, with hands-on experience in surface grinding and wire cutting operations, including reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshooting abilities to identify, analyze, and resolve machine, tooling, and process-related issues in a timely and secure manner.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams and to report status, issues, and improvements clearly.
- Training and mentoring capabilities to support new team members, share best practices, and follow standardized work instructions and procedures.
- Basic project management skills to plan work sequences, prioritize tasks, and meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Prior experience in a tool room or precision manufacturing environment; familiarity with CNC machining, EDM, or related processes is an advantage.
- Knowledge of safety standards and quality systems; experience working under ISO or similar certified environments is beneficial.
