Role & responsibilities

- Lead steering system design and development for small L7e-category vehicles.

- Develop and optimize steering system architecture, layouts, and components.

- Design and develop rack-and-pinion steering systems.

- Perform steering kinematic and articulation studies.

- Support steering component selection, sizing, packaging, and integration.

- Prepare and review 2D drawings and 3D models using CATIA V5.

- Apply GD&T; standards (ASME Y14.5M / ISO) for engineering drawings.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including CAE, testing, manufacturing, and vehicle engineering.

- Support homologation, validation, DVP, and testing activities.

- Ensure design compliance with performance, quality, durability, and vehicle-level requirements.

- Participate in design reviews, problem-solving, and engineering change activities.

Preferred candidate profile





- 68 years of experience in automotive steering system design and development.

- Candidates with complete 2W / 3W steering system development program experience preferred.

- Robust hands-on knowledge of steering architecture, steering layouts, rack & pinion, kinematics, and articulation.

- Experience with CATIA V5 is mandatory.

- Good knowledge of GD&T; ASME Y14.5M / ISO standards.

- Knowledge of steering homologation and automotive product development processes.

- Basic understanding of FEA, DVP, testing, materials, and manufacturing processes.

- Strong design review, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

- Candidates from Piaggio India, Atul Auto, Tata Motors, Mahindra MRV, Tata Technologies, FEV India, or similar automotive organizations preferred.
