Organization / Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing software development team. In this role, you will balance people leadership with technical credibility — managing team health, growing engineers, and partnering with business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver on a complex technical roadmap.

What you have

Key Responsibilities

Lead & Develop the Team — Manage a team of senior, mid-level, and junior software engineers; conduct 1:1s, performance reviews,



career development planning, and hiring

Drive Delivery — Own sprint planning, backlog health, and delivery commitments; remove blockers and ensure the team operates at a sustainable, productive pace

Stakeholder & Requirements Management — Partner with Director-level business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and prioritize requirements; translate business needs into actionable engineering work

Technical Oversight — Maintain sufficient technical depth in Java / Spring Boot and .NET to evaluate trade-offs, challenge estimates, and guide architectural decisions alongside technical leads

Mentor & Coach — Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and psychological safety across the team

Cross-Team Collaboration — Coordinate dependencies with peer engineering teams, product owners, architects, and QA to align on roadmap execution

Process & Continuous Improvement — Identify and address delivery inefficiencies; champion Agile practices and drive retrospective outcomes to measurable improvements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications Technical Expertise and Educational Requirements

- Please note, these requirements will be used to advance or disqualify candidates and must be objective and measurable.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a formal people management or team lead role

Hands-on software development background with proficiency in Java / Spring Boot and/or .NET (C#)





Proven ability to manage requirements and prioritization conversations with business stakeholders and Director-level leadership

Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills

Experience managing delivery in Agile/Scrum environments

Preferred Qualifications What experience and skills are DESIRED, but are not REQUIRED to perform this role today?

Technical nice-to-haves (bullet points)

Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or related field)

Experience managing teams in financial services or regulated industries

Familiarity with SAFe Agile framework and PI Planning

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices
