Position: Sr Manager (Procurement & Sourcing)

Department: Purchase / Supply Chain Management

Reporting To: Head Procurement

Location: Sri City

Job Purpose To lead strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier development, cost optimization, localization initiatives, and supply chain risk management for production materials, MRO items, imports, and non-BOM procurement. The role is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted supply, driving cost competitiveness, supporting new product development, and building a high-performing procurement team aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement & Sourcing

- Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage domestic procurement, import sourcing, non-BOM procurement, and MRO purchasing activities.
- Build and maintain a competitive, sustainable, and diversified supplier base.
- Develop sourcing strategies to mitigate single-source dependency and ensure supply continuity.

Cost Management & Productivity Improvement

- Lead cost reduction initiatives through negotiations, alternate sourcing, value engineering, and process improvements.
- Monitor market trends, commodity movements, and industry developments to identify opportunities for savings.
- Analyze procurement spend and implement strategies for cost optimization and waste reduction.
- Drive annual productivity and cost-saving projects to meet business targets.

Supplier Development & Relationship Management

- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, contracts, and long-term partnerships with suppliers.




- Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, and service.
- Ensure supplier compliance with company standards, quality requirements, and sustainability expectations.

Supply Chain Risk Management

- Conduct supplier risk assessments and implement mitigation plans to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor supplier financial, operational, and capacity-related risks.
- Develop contingency sourcing plans for critical commodities and materials.

Recent Product Development & VA/VE Support

- Collaborate with R&D;, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams on new product development projects.
- Support Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives through supplier innovation and alternate material development.
- Ensure timely sourcing and development support for new product launches.

Operations & Inventory Management

- Oversee the purchase order lifecycle from sourcing to delivery.
- Ensure optimum inventory levels while maintaining uninterrupted material availability.
- Coordinate with Planning, Production, Quality, and Logistics teams to support operational requirements.
- Drive packaging optimization initiatives to reduce logistics costs and improve material handling efficiency.

Compliance, Ethics & ESG

- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies,



legal requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Lead procurement operations in accordance with the organization's Code of Ethics.
- Promote Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives within the supplier ecosystem.
- Drive responsible sourcing and sustainability practices across the supply chain.

Team Leadership & People Development

- Lead, mentor, and develop procurement team members.
- Establish performance objectives, training plans, and career development programs.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering (MBA preferred).
- 12-17 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development, and Supply Chain Management in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in cost management, contract negotiation, supplier development, imports, localization, and inventory optimization.
- Experience in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and procurement analytics.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
