About The Role We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to join our dynamic team at EazyML. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining robust database solutions that underpin our applications and analytical tools.

Your expertise will directly influence the efficiency, scalability, and performance of our data infrastructure, ensuring seamless data flow and reliable insights for our enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong hands-on background with PostgreSQL and a comprehensive understanding of SQL fundamentals applicable across various relational databases and modern data warehouses. Your primary focus will be on writing efficient, scalable queries, diagnosing performance issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize our data architecture.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess at least 4+ years of skilled experience as a SQL Developer or in a similar role. You should demonstrate strong expertise in PostgreSQL, coupled with working knowledge of other relational database management systems such as MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

A deep understanding of query performance factors—including indexing strategies, execution plans, query planning, and optimizer behavior—is essential. Proven ability to analyze and optimize nested queries and subqueries for performance improvements is required. You should have a solid grasp of core database principles, including normalization, various indexing techniques, locking mechanisms, transactions, and isolation levels.

Familiarity with tools like EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE or their equivalents for diagnosing slow queries,



along with experience using database monitoring and profiling tools, is also necessary.

Responsibilities

- Design, write, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support various data processing needs.
- Analyze query performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance execution efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend effective indexing strategies based on query patterns, including the use of B-tree, composite, partial, and covering indexes.
- Review and refactor nested queries and subqueries, employing techniques such as CTEs, joins, and window functions to improve performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers and data teams to design and implement efficient database schemas aligned with application requirements.
- Monitor production database performance, troubleshoot slow-running queries, and implement corrective actions.
- Document database design decisions, query optimization strategies, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability across teams.
