Role Overview: We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Rust (LLM Evaluation & Repository Validation) to work on a part-time basis. The project focuses on building large‑language‑model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets that address realistic software engineering problems. One approach involves creating verifiable software‑engineering tasks from public repository histories using a synthetic method with human‑in‑the‑loop review, while expanding coverage across programming languages and difficulty levels.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze and triage GitHub issues across trending open‑source libraries to identify scenarios relevant for LLM assessment.
- Set up and configure code repositories, including Docker containerization and environment preparation, to enable reproducible testing.
- Evaluate unit‑test coverage and quality metrics to determine baseline performance of codebases.
- Modify and execute code locally to assess LLM performance in bug‑fixing and code‑completion scenarios.




- Collaborate with AI researchers to design challenging repository selections and issue sets that stress LLM capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Minimum three years of professional software engineering experience, with proven expertise in Rust.
- Proficiency with Git version control, Docker containerization, and basic software pipeline setup.
- Ability to understand, navigate, and modify complex codebases across multiple programming languages.
- Experience running, testing, and debugging real‑world projects in a local development environment.
- Prior contribution to or evaluation of open‑source projects is considered a plus.
