About the Role
We are looking for a responsible, hands-on and commercially aware Civil Engineer who can independently manage labour-oriented construction sites and take ownership of day-to-day site execution.
This is not a desk-only engineering role. The ideal candidate should be comfortable being on site, managing labour, coordinating contractors, checking quantities, monitoring work quality, preparing bills and ensuring work progresses as per the planned schedule.
The candidate will work closely with the management and will have significant responsibility for site execution, manpower productivity, material planning, measurements and billing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Site Execution & Management
- Independently manage day-to-day civil construction activities at assigned sites.
- Plan and execute work as per drawings, specifications and project schedule.
- Monitor progress and ensure activities are completed within planned timelines.
- Coordinate civil, finishing and other site activities.
- Identify site issues and provide practical solutions.
- Ensure proper sequencing of construction activities.
- Maintain daily site records and progress reports.
- Coordinate with management, consultants, contractors and vendors.
1. Labour Management
- Manage and supervise labour teams at site.
- Plan daily manpower requirements based on work targets.
- Allocate labour effectively to different activities.
- Monitor labour productivity and output.
- Maintain labour attendance and daily deployment records.
- Ensure labour is utilized efficiently and unnecessary idle time is minimized.
- Coordinate with labour contractors and supervisors.
- Set daily/weekly targets and follow up on achievement.
1. Quantity & Measurement
- Take accurate site measurements for completed work.
- Prepare quantity calculations from drawings and actual site execution.
- Verify quantities executed by labour contractors/subcontractors.
- Check contractor measurements before submission for billing.
- Prepare measurement sheets and quantity statements.
- Maintain activity-wise and contractor-wise quantity records.
- Identify quantity variations and additional works.
1. Billing & Commercial Work
- Prepare and verify RA Bills / Contractor Bills.
- Check contractor bills against actual site measurements.
- Verify BOQ quantities, rates and work completion.
- Prepare abstracts and supporting measurement sheets.
- Track certified,
paid and outstanding contractor bills.
- Identify billing discrepancies before submission to management.
- Assist management in controlling project costs.
- Maintain proper records of labour, material and contractor-related costs.
1. Material Management
- Prepare material requirements based on site progress.
- Coordinate material requirements with the office/purchase team.
- Monitor material consumption at site.
- Ensure materials are used efficiently and wastage is controlled.
- Maintain basic inward, outward and consumption records.
- Inform management in advance regarding upcoming material requirements.
1. Quality & Safety
- Ensure construction work is executed as per drawings and specifications.
- Monitor workmanship and construction quality.
- Check reinforcement, shuttering, concrete, masonry, plastering and finishing activities as applicable.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants/engineers.
- Ensure basic site safety practices are followed.
- Immediately report major quality, safety or execution issues to management.
1. Planning & Reporting
- Prepare daily and weekly work plans.
- Track planned vs. actual progress.
- Maintain Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
- Report manpower, work completed, material requirements and site issues.
- Highlight delays and bottlenecks before they become critical.
- Coordinate with management for upcoming activities and targets.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR The ideal candidate should be:
- A Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Having 3–7 years of relevant construction/site experience.
- Strong in practical site execution.
- Comfortable managing labour directly.
- Positive at measurements and quantity calculations.
- Experienced in contractor billing / RA billing.
- Able to read and understand civil drawings.
- Good knowledge of construction methods and sequencing.
- Comfortable using Excel for measurements, quantities and billing.
- Able to prepare basic reports and site documentation.
- Good at contractor and labour coordination.
- Strong in follow-up and execution.
- Commercially conscious and able to identify wastage/cost leakages.
- Willing to take ownership rather than waiting for instructions.
Most Significant We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the site.
The candidate should be capable of saying:
“This is my site, this is today's target, this is the manpower required, this is what has been completed, this is what is pending, and this is what management needs to know.”
Someone who only supervises labour or waits for instructions will not be the right fit.

Compensation
₹25,000 – ₹50,000 per month, depending on experience, technical capability and previous site responsibility.
Performance-based growth and salary revision available for the right candidate.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
