Role & responsibilities

Shift Electrical Operations & Maintenance

- Supervise electrical operations and maintenance activities of MBF and Sinter Plant during the shift.
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply and reliable operation of plant electrical equipment.
- Monitor and maintain motors, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, transformers, switchgear, control panels, and distribution systems.
- Attend electrical breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
- Coordinate with production and mechanical departments for smooth plant operations.
- Monitor critical electrical equipment and take preventive action to avoid breakdowns.

B. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

- Implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical equipment.
- Ensure timely inspection,testing, lubrication coordination, tightening, and replacement of electrical components.
- Identify recurring electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain records of equipment health, breakdowns, maintenance activities, and spares consumption.

C. MBF Electrical Systems

- Handle electrical maintenance of MBF-related equipment and systems.
- Supervise electrical maintenance of blowers, pumps, conveyors, charging systems, material handling equipment, valves, instrumentation interfaces, and associated electrical systems.
- Monitor critical motors, starters, VFDs, MCCs, and control systems.

D. Sinter Plant Electrical Systems

- Supervise electrical maintenance of Sinter Plant equipment and associated systems.
- Handle electrical maintenance of conveyors, sinter machines, fans/blowers, feeders, crushers, screens, pumps, drives, MCCs, VFDs,



and other material-handling equipment.
- Ensure availability of critical electrical equipment for continuous sinter production.

E. Breakdown & Troubleshooting

- Diagnose electrical faults in motors, starters, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, cables, switchgear, and control circuits.
- Lead the shift team during emergency breakdowns and ensure quick restoration.
- Analyze breakdown causes and recommend permanent corrective measures.
- Escalate major electrical issues to the Electrical Manager/HOD.

F. Manpower Management

- Allocate electrical technicians and electricians according to shift requirements.
- Supervise the performance of shift electrical maintenance personnel.
- Ensure proper shift handover and communication of pending jobs.
- Guide technicians in electrical troubleshooting and protected maintenance practices.

G. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety procedures and plant safety standards.
- Ensure proper implementation of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) before maintenance activities.
- Ensure use of appropriate PPE and safe working practices.
- Ensure electrical panels, cables, earthing, emergency systems, and fire protection arrangements are maintained properly.
- Participate in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

Preferred candidate profile Candidates should have 510 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance/operations, preferably in:

- Iron & Steel Plant
- Blast Furnace / MBF
- Sinter Plant

Experience in handling shift operations and electrical maintenance teams will be preferred.
