Position description: The role involves overseeing and managing the operations of the SMS Mechanical Hydraulics section within a leading mining and metals company. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning, maintenance, and safety of hydraulic systems critical to stainless steel manufacturing processes. This position requires a seasoned professional with strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise in hydraulics, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to meet production targets and uphold quality standards in a high-demand industrial setting.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the SMS Mechanical Hydraulics department to ensure optimal performance and mínimal downtime.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for hydraulic systems to enhance reliability and extend equipment life.
- Coordinate with engineering, production,



and safety teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex hydraulic system issues promptly.
- Monitor and analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to hydraulic equipment operation and maintenance.
- Manage and mentor a team of technicians and engineers, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
- Oversee procurement and inventory management of hydraulic components and spare parts to support uninterrupted operations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on system status, maintenance activities, and project progress to senior management.
