Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Storage Firmware Engineer with 15+ years of experience, including 5+ years in storage firmware, to design, develop, debug, and optimize firmware for enterprise-class storage products.

The role focuses primarily on enterprise HDD storage firmware, with exposure to SAS/SATA, ZAC/ZBC, storage controllers, SSD/NVMe concepts, and advanced storage technologies. The candidate will work across firmware architecture, development, validation, performance optimization, debugging, and product deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Firmware Architecture & Development

- Design, develop, and maintain firmware for enterprise HDD products using SAS/SATA and ZAC/ZBC.
- Define firmware architecture, software frameworks, and module interfaces.
- Participate in the complete firmware lifecycle: requirements, design, development, validation, and release.
- Develop and optimize algorithms and participate in their verification and production.

Storage Technology

- Work on advanced storage features such as:
- Flash Translation Layer (FTL)
- Middleware
- Garbage Collection
- Error Recovery
- Power-Fail Management
- Storage protocols including SATA, SAS, and NVMe
- Contribute to next-generation storage technologies and product roadmaps.

Performance & Reliability

- Analyze and optimize latency, throughput, performance, and resource utilization.
- Lead root-cause analysis for field issues and customer escalations.
- Develop diagnostics, telemetry, and debugging capabilities.
- Develop simulation architectures to validate performance algorithms.

Technical Leadership

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to firmware engineers.




- Participate in architecture reviews and technical decisions.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, validation, and customer-facing teams.
- Understand customer requirements and resolve complex technical issues.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of firmware development experience, with 5+ years in storage firmware.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Strong knowledge of embedded systems, RTOS, and bare-metal development.
- Experience in storage firmware architecture and development.
- Hands-on firmware debugging using JTAG, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
- Robust understanding of:
- Memory management
- Concurrency
- Interrupts
- Performance optimization
- Data structures
- Object-oriented design
- Good understanding of hardware, SoC architecture, and processor architecture.
- Working knowledge of system-level scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Shell, or Lua.
- Strong analytical and hands-on debugging skills.
- Good communication and technical leadership abilities.

Pay: ₹5,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per year
