What You'll Do

- Design and build backend services in a microservices architecture
- Work with MongoDB and Redis data stores, making sound choices around data modeling and caching ( any NoSQL, Cache Store)
- Translate product requirements into technical documentation — data models, system designs, API specs. Collaborate directly with product and frontend teams to define API contracts
- Deploy and manage services in the cloud, including CI/CD pipelines
- Own observability for your services — logging, metrics, tracing
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and API-level tests
- Build and maintain search functionality (full-text/faceted search across core data)
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services into our platform




- Implement and maintain payment gateway integrations, handling transactions securely and reliably
- The Senior Software Engineer will also mentor teammates, contribute to technical decision-making, and help evolve engineering best practices across the organization.

Requirements

- 5-6 years of professional experience in backend development, ideally with Node.js/Express.js
- Strong understanding of REST API design and microservices patterns, Event-driven architecture
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB and Redis (or similar NoSQL/caching stores)
- Experience with a cloud provider (Azure preferred, but AWS/GCP experience transferable) and containerized deployments (Kubernetes/Docker)
- Comfort writing technical documentation — able to turn ambiguous product requirements into transparent system designs
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Solid testing fundamentals — unit and integration testing, API testing (Jest/Supertest or equivalent)
- Python experience is a plus (FastAPI specifically)
- Comfortable in a startup environment: shifting priorities, high ownership, minimal hand-holding

Nice to Have

- Experience with event-driven architectures (message queues, pub/sub)
- Experience scaling a service through rapid user growth
- Comfortable working with AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) as part of daily workflow
- Familiarity with data/AI "starter pack" stacks — e.g., vector databases, RAG pipelines, LLM API integration (OpenAI, Anthropic)
