Qzigma Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Migration Operations Engineer to lead and manage critical data migration operations across multiple products and geographies. This role requires a strong combination of technical troubleshooting, operational excellence, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.

The ideal candidate will take end-to-end ownership of migration execution, incident resolution, process optimization, and operational readiness while collaborating closely with onboarding, support, and platform engineering teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Operations & Execution

- Execute, monitor, and manage large-scale data migrations across products and regions.
- Take complete ownership of migration activities from planning through successful completion.
- Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks throughout migration cycles.
- Ensure migrations meet defined SLAs, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Manage operational readiness for high-impact migration windows, including risk assessments, checklists, and go/no-go decisions.
- Adapt migration plans proactively to address changing circumstances or operational challenges.

Troubleshooting & Incident Management

- Investigate and troubleshoot migration failures, delays, and data discrepancies.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and recurring operational issues.
- Define and maintain triage frameworks, prioritization models, severity classifications, and escalation paths.
- Lead post-incident reviews and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Improve monitoring, logging, dashboards, and alerting mechanisms to enhance operational visibility and diagnosis.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

- Identify recurring failure patterns and implement long-term operational improvements.




- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within migration operations.
- Maintain and enhance migration documentation, playbooks, SOPs, and best practices.
- Provide structured feedback and requirements to the Migration Platform team to improve tooling and automation.
- Contribute to service reliability, operational efficiency, and scalability initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Serve as the primary point of contact between Migration, Onboarding, and Support teams.
- Communicate migration status, risks, blockers, and timeline impacts proactively.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to ensure smooth onboarding and post-migration support.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to identify challenges and drive resolutions.
- Translate technical migration issues into business-friendly updates for non-technical stakeholders.

Leadership & Mentorship

- Establish operational quality standards and best practices for the migration team.
- Mentor junior engineers and team members on migration processes, troubleshooting methodologies, and operational excellence.
- Review work outputs and provide constructive coaching and feedback.
- Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Share technical knowledge through training sessions, documentation, and team discussions.

Required Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience





- 5-10 years of experience in migration operations, technical support, production operations, or related roles.
- Proven experience managing production data migration projects and operational workflows.
- Experience working in customer-focused technology environments.

Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of databases and SQL.
- Experience performing data validation, integrity checks, and migration analysis.
- Ability to read and understand backend or scripting code such as:

- Python

- PHP

- Shell Scripting

- Similar programming languages
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with:

- Monitoring and observability tools
- Application logs and log analysis

- Incident management systems
- Familiarity with Git-based version control systems such as GitHub.
- Experience using Jira or similar ticketing and workflow management platforms.
