This role is based out of Powai, Mumbai.

Job Responsibilities:

1. DGFT Licensing & Advance Authorization Management

- Lead end-to-end management of Advance Authorization, EPCG, IEC, RCMC, RoDTEP and other DGFT approvals.
- Handle and close high-volume and high-value Advance Authorizations, including application, amendment, invalidation, export obligation tracking, redemption and EODC.
- Ensure timely closure of legacy and current AA cases with accurate documentation, reconciliation and DGFT submissions.
- Monitor license validity, export obligation, duty saved value, import/export utilization and pending closures through periodic dashboards.
- Manage deficiency letters, DGFT queries, show-cause notices, representations and closure-related escalations.

2. FTP & DGFT Compliance

- Act as the subject matter expert for Foreign Trade Policy, Handbook of Procedures, DGFT Notifications, Public Notices and Trade Notices.
- Track policy changes and assess impact on imports, exports, licenses, benefits and compliance obligations.
- Develop SOPs, checklists and internal controls for DGFT transactions.
- Ensure compliance for IEC, RCMC, Status Holder, license conditions, export obligations and statutory records.
- Support internal, statutory and regulatory audits relating to DGFT and FTP matters.

3. DGFT Imports Importability & Classification

- Review importability of goods under ITC(HS), DGFT policy conditions, restricted/prohibited category requirements and license applicability before import.




- Provide guidance on HS classification alignment for DGFT license applications, Advance Authorization inputs, EPCG imports and restricted item import cases.
- Coordinate with Customs/EXIM operations teams to ensure DGFT licenses, import policy conditions and Customs declarations are aligned.
- Support resolution of import-related classification or policy-condition issues impacting DGFT license utilization or closure.

4. SCOMET & Export Control Compliance

- Lead SCOMET compliance monitoring for exports of goods, technology, software, spares, drawings, technical documents and services, wherever applicable.
- Ensure proper screening, classification review, license requirement assessment and adherence to DGFT export-control conditions.
- Maintain SCOMET records, license trackers, end-use/end-user documentation and post-export compliance evidence.
- Conduct SCOMET awareness sessions for Business, Engineering, SCM, Projects, Logistics and EXIM teams.
- Escalate potential export-control risks and ensure no restricted export is undertaken without required approval.

5. Export Incentives & Advantages

- Oversee export benefit schemes such as RoDTEP, legacy MEIS/SEIS/FPS, deemed export benefits and other applicable incentives.
- Ensure accurate claim filing, reconciliation, realization tracking and audit-ready documentation.
- Coordinate with Finance and Banking teams for incentive accounting, export proceeds linkage and benefit utilization.

6. Stakeholder Management & Governance

- Interface with DGFT Regional Authorities, DGFT HQ, EPCs, Customs teams, consultants and statutory agencies.
- Work closely with Business, SCM, Finance, Projects,



Engineering and Logistics teams.
- Lead, guide and review the DGFT compliance team on complex licensing, closure, SCOMET and policy matters.
- Maintain MIS and management dashboards for license status, EODC ageing, SCOMET cases, incentives and audit issues.
- Handle DGFT policy relaxation matters, including preparation and submission of applications/representations before the Policy Relaxation Committee (PRC), wherever required.
- Ensure adequate exposure and capability to manage interactions, representations and follow-ups with DGFT, PRC, EPCG Committee and Norms Committee for approvals, clarifications, regularization and closure of complex cases.

Experience

- 18+ years of experience in DGFT licensing, FTP compliance, EXIM and trade regulatory matters.
- Strong experience in managing Advance Authorization and EPCG in high-value, high-volume environments.
- Adequate exposure to handle DGFT, PRC, EPCG Committee and Norms Committee level interactions/ representations.
- Prior exposure to Engineering / EPC / Infrastructure / Manufacturing sectors preferred.
- Proven ability to handle DGFT authorities, deficiency letters, representations, audits and closure of complex licenses.
- Working knowledge of Customs matters such as importability, HS classification and DGFT linked import policy requirements.

Technical Competencies

- Expert knowledge of FTP, HBP, DGFT portal, AA, EPCG, IEC, RCMC, RoDTEP and SCOMET.
- Strong hands-on experience in Advance Authorization closure, EODC, amendments, invalidation and redemption.
- Knowledge of ITC(HS), import policy conditions and classification relevance for DGFT imports.
- Adequate understanding of Customs processes to ensure proper alignment of DGFT license requirements with import documentation, classification and clearance-related controls.
- Strong understanding of SCOMET classification, licensing and export-control compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems, MIS dashboards and digital document repositories.
