Main Purpose The Senior Lead Production Engineer will drive production optimization and performance enhancement across conventional oil & gas fields and CBM assets. The role is responsible for maximizing hydrocarbon recovery through integrated production engineering, well performance analysis, network modelling, artificial lift optimization, flow assurance, and field operations support.

The incumbent will work closely with operations, subsurface, drilling and completions teams to identify production opportunities, resolve technical bottlenecks, manage production risks, and develop sustainable strategies for long-term asset performance while ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.

Job Accountabilities

1. Production Performance Analysis & Optimization

- Monitor and analyse well, field and network production performance against production potential, identifying production losses, deferrals and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct well inflow and outflow analysis, nodal analysis and integrated production system modelling to optimize well and network performance.
- Build and maintain well and network models using industry-standard simulation tools such as OLGA, PIPESIM, PROSPER and GAP.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve well productivity, production rates, recovery and overall network efficiency.
- Analyse production constraints and recommend remedial actions to sustain and enhance field performance.
- Support the development of short-, medium- and long-term production optimization strategies aligned with asset and business objectives.

2. Well, Production Operations & Artificial Lift Support

- Provide hands-on technical expertise in production operations, well completions, well interventions and sand control.
- Evaluate, design and optimize the performance of artificial lift systems, including PCP, SRP and Gas Lift, considering well and field operating constraints.




- Support the development and execution of well intervention and artificial lift optimization strategies to sustain and enhance production.
- Troubleshoot production and operational challenges in collaboration with field operations and technical teams.
- Provide technical support and recommendations on basic surface processing facilities and production systems.
- Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices to improve production efficiency and operational reliability.

3. Flow Assurance & Production Risk Management

- Develop and implement effective flow assurance strategies to identify, prevent and mitigate production risks.
- Address operational challenges related to hydrate formation, sand production, wax deposition and scale management to minimize production losses and downtime.
- Apply integrated well and network analysis to identify and resolve flow-related bottlenecks.
- Provide support on subsea flow assurance requirements, where applicable.
- Collaborate with surface, subsurface and operations teams to develop integrated solutions for complex production and flow assurance challenges.

4. Technical Assurance & Compliance

- Provide independent technical review and assurance for production optimization plans, production management proposals and key engineering decisions.
- Conduct technical risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are incorporated into production strategies and operations.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, applicable regulations and international oil & gas industry practices.
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE across all production-related activities.

5. Collaboration & Technical Leadership





- Partner with multidisciplinary and site-based teams to identify and implement production optimization initiatives.
- Lead and mentor production engineers, strengthening technical capability and fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Act as a key technical interface between operations, subsurface, drilling, completions and other stakeholders.
- Support knowledge sharing, technical problem-solving and the implementation of best practices across assets.

Functional Competencies:

- Strong hands-on experience in production operations, production engineering, well completions and well interventions.
- Expertise in well performance analysis, including inflow and outflow analysis, nodal analysis and production optimization.
- Strong experience in well and network modelling using tools such as OLGA, PIPESIM, PROSPER, GAP or equivalent simulation software.
- Experience in the design, analysis and optimization of artificial lift systems, including PCP, SRP and Gas Lift.
- Solid knowledge of sand control and sand production management.
- Good understanding of basic surface processing facilities and production systems.
- Expertise in flow assurance, including hydrate, wax, scale and sand management.
- Experience in subsea flow assurance will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of production optimization methodologies, integrated asset modelling and production network management.
- Sound knowledge of HSE regulations, technical assurance processes and upstream oil & gas industry best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.

Education:

- B.E./B.Tech in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

- Minimum 14 years of relevant experience in the upstream oil & gas industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in production engineering, field operations, production optimization, well performance management and integrated production systems.
