Job Title: Power System Engineer / Senior Engineer
Experience: 1–3 Years
:
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Power System Engineer / Grid Integration Engineer with 1–3 years of experience in power system studies and grid integration, preferably with exposure to renewable energy projects such as wind and solar farms.
The candidate will be responsible for conducting power system studies, supporting substation engineering activities, protection system analysis, and preparing technical reports and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct power system studies for renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar farms, and other industrial applications.
- Develop and review power system models using simulation tools such as DIgSILENT, PSCAD, and ETAP.
- Perform power system studies such as:
- Load Flow Studies
- Short Circuit Studies
- LVRT and HVRT Studies
- Frequency Response and Stability Analysis
- Agile Studies using PSS®E and/or PSCAD
- Harmonic Studies and Filter Design
- Support the design and development of substations, including:
- Earthing design and analysis
- Equipment GTP selection and review
- Review of engineering designs and drawings for compliance with applicable standards and codes
- Perform protection system design and coordination studies.
- Conduct insulation coordination studies.
- Perform cable sizing studies, including current-carrying capacity and voltage-drop calculations.
- Conduct energy audits and identify opportunities for energy savings and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation of study results and recommendations.
- Stay updated with applicable grid codes, industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to power system analysis and grid integration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Power Systems.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in power system studies, grid integration, or related areas.
- Strong understanding of power system fundamentals, including power flow, stability, protection, and fault analysis.
- Proficiency in one or more power system simulation tools such as DIgSILENT, PSCAD, or ETAP.
- Exposure to grid studies for renewable energy projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant grid codes, standards, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication, technical documentation, and report-writing skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with protection relay coordination studies using ETAP or other relevant software.
- Knowledge of Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) studies.
- Experience with PSS®E and/or PSCAD for dynamic studies.
- Programming knowledge in Python for data analysis and automation will be an advantage.
