About the Role The Senior Director, PMO leads the enterprise Project Management Office, setting the strategic direction for program governance, portfolio prioritization, and execution excellence across the organization. This role owns the methodology, tools, and talent that enable cross-functional teams to deliver complex, high-impact initiatives on time, within budget, and aligned to business strategy. The ideal candidate is both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator who can influence senior stakeholders while driving disciplined execution at scale

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

· Define and evolve the PMO's vision, operating model, and governance framework in alignment with enterprise strategy

· Partner with executive leadership to prioritize the project/program portfolio based on business value, risk, and resource capacity

· Serve as a trusted advisor to the C-suite on program health, capital allocation, and delivery risk

Portfolio & Program Governance

· Establish and enforce standards for project intake, prioritization, stage-gating, and benefits realization

· Oversee a portfolio of large-scale, cross-functional programs (technology, transformation, M&A; integration)





· Design and maintain executive dashboards and reporting cadences for portfolio status, risk, and financials

· Lead steering committee and governance forums, escalating and resolving critical issues

Team Leadership & Development

· Build, mentor, and lead a team of program/project managers, PMO analysts, and coordinators

· Establish career pathing, training, and certification programs (PMP, Agile/Scrum) to grow team capability

· Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence

Process & Methodology

· Champion the adoption of standardized methodologies tailored to project type and complexity

· Drive continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates, and processes (resource management, change control, risk management)

· Own selection and administration of PPM tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, Planview, Clarity)

Financial & Resource Management

· Oversee program budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking across the portfolio

· Manage resource capacity planning and demand management across departments

· Identify and mitigate risks to scope, schedule, and budget across major initiatives

Required Qualifications

· 15+ years of progressive experience in program/project management,



with 5+ years in a PMO leadership role

· Proven track record leading enterprise-scale programs and managing multi-million-dollar portfolios

· Deep expertise in both traditional and Agile/Hybrid delivery methodologies

· PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification required; Agile certification (CSM, SAFe) a plus

· Solid executive presence with experience presenting to and influencing C-level stakeholders

· Demonstrated experience building and scaling PMO functions or teams

· Excellent financial acumen, including budget ownership and ROI analysis

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with M&A; integration or large-scale digital transformation programs

· Familiarity with enterprise PPM/ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Planview, Clarity PPM)

· Six Sigma or Lean certification
