Description Senior Developer role on BNP Paribas CIB’s AI Platform team in India CoE. Focused on building the orchestration layer and enterprise-ready infrastructure for agentic AI systems.

Role: Senior Developer - AI Platforms

Location: Mumbai / Bengaluru, India

Experience

- Minimum 5 years Java development
- 5+ years Python development
- Experience using both Java and Python
- Strong understanding of Data Structures & Algorithms
- Ability to analyze solutions using Time and Space Complexity principles
- Experience with Concurrency and Parallel Processing
- Experience with Multithreading, Multiprocessing, Async Programming, and synchronization mechanisms
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems involving nested data structures, large-scale data processing, and system performance bottlenecks
- Robust understanding of RESTful architecture, API lifecycle management, versioning, authentication, authorization, and API security best practices
- Prior experience in complex and diverse IT systems environments

Qualification

- Bachelors degree in information technology
- Master degree in information technology
- Bachelors degree in computer science
- Master degree in computer science

- Study level: Master Degree or equivalent (> 4 years)

Responsibilities

- Architect the orchestration layer for the Agentic CoE
- Build frameworks that allow agents to use tools, maintain state, and execute multi-step reasoning tasks
- Bridge cutting-edge AI research and production-grade software engineering
- Work deeply within the Python ecosystem
- Turn experimental AI workflows into robust, enterprise-ready services
- Build scalable, maintainable, production-grade systems
- Design LLM orchestration frameworks
- Architect enterprise-scale AI platforms
- Design and build secure, scalable, enterprise-grade APIs
- Support governance, observability, security, scalability, and banking-grade operational controls

Additional Responsibilities

- Serve as a technical cornerstone of the AI Platform team
- Support autonomous, reasoning agents for complex financial workflows
- Interact with enterprise data and tools
- Manage performance to ensure delivery
- Liaise with stakeholders as a bridging point
- Operate effectively in complex and diverse IT systems environments
- Remain results-oriented and understand business impact

- Previous experience with other languages such as C/C++

- Interactive UI development with React, Vue, or Svelte
