Overview

Our customer is seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer with extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining contemporary Android applications. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Kotlin, Android architecture, mobile application development, and scalable software engineering practices. This role will collaborate closely with product, design, backend engineering, and quality assurance teams to deliver high-performing mobile solutions and help drive technical and architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.

- Develop scalable, maintainable, and high-quality mobile applications following modern Android development standards.

- Work extensively with Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and Android Architecture Components.

- Design and implement clean, reusable, and testable code using established design patterns.

- Integrate RESTful APIs, JSON services, and third-party platforms.

- Build responsive and intuitive mobile user interfaces aligned with product and UX requirements.

- Optimize application performance, memory usage, battery efficiency, and responsiveness.

- Troubleshoot complex application issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and UI test coverage.

- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions.

- Mentor junior and mid-level developers.

- Collaborate closely with QA teams to resolve defects and improve software quality.

- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated mobile build and deployment processes.

- Stay current with Android technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.

- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and coding standards.

- All other duties as assigned.





Required Qualifications

- 8+ years of professional Android application development experience.

- Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin.

- Deep understanding of Android SDK and Android application lifecycle.

- Experience with Jetpack components including ViewModel, StateFlow/LiveData, Room, Navigation, and WorkManager.

- Strong understanding of modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.

- Experience integrating REST APIs, JSON services, and HTTP-based applications.

- Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development.

- Knowledge of Android UI/UX principles and responsive design practices.

- Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.

- Strong Git and source-control experience.

- Experience creating unit and UI tests using frameworks such as JUnit, MockK, Mockito, Espresso, or similar tools.

- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.

- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Firebase and Google Play Services.

- Experience implementing mobile security and secure coding practices.

- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, biometric authentication, and secure data storage.

- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

- Experience with application performance monitoring and crash analytics.

- Exposure to AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.

- Experience supporting large-scale customer-facing mobile applications.

- Familiarity with modular Android architectures.

- Experience modernizing legacy Android applications to Kotlin and Jetpack-based solutions.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
