Senior Account Executive
Summary of Position
The Senior Account Executive is responsible for strategic ownership of high-impact business units or large scopes within client’s most complex enterprise customers. This role drives and is accountable for long-term growth strategy, executive alignment, forecasting accuracy, and sustained expansion within the assigned scope. The position operates with a high degree of autonomy and independent judgment, influencing commercial strategy and customer outcomes at the executive level.
Senior Account
Executives work in close partnership with Strategic Account Executives (SAEs) to shape and execute coordinated expansion strategies across enterprise customer logos, ensuring seamless alignment between existing business unit growth and entry into new divisions.
Essential Functions
The following essential functions reflect exempt-level responsibilities requiring discretion, independent judgment, and strategic decision-making:
- Own executive sponsorship and strategic relationships within assigned business units
- Develop and execute multi-year account and growth strategies aligned to enterprise customer objectives and company revenue goals
- Drive large, complex expansion opportunities within assigned scope
- Own forecasting accuracy, revenue predictability, and long-range planning for high-impact accounts
- Partner closely with SAEs on coordinated expansion strategies
- Influence solution strategy in partnership with Solution Architects and delivery leaders
- Lead internal account governance, QBRs, and executive reviews
- Mentor, coach, and provide strategic guidance AE I and AE II team members
- Jointly define account expansion strategy, whitespace prioritization, and sequencing of new business unit entry
- Ensure executive alignment and sponsorship across existing and new business units
- Support SAE-led expansion motions by providing executive access, customer context, and operational insight
- Assume ongoing ownership and forecasting responsibility for newly established business units post-expansion, as defined by leadership
- Own long-range forecasts and strategic revenue planning
- Identify and manage risks and dependencies impacting revenue outcomes
- Ensure alignment between commercial commitments and delivery capacity

This position is based in a professional office setting and regularly utilizes workplace technology, including computers, smartphones, multifunction printers, cloud-based filing systems, and collaboration tools.
Physical Demands
This role requires physical capabilities that support the successful execution of key responsibilities. The employee regularly engages in verbal and written communication with colleagues and clients to address project-related inquiries and must be able to convey accurate information clearly and efficiently. The position involves remaining seated at a workstation for approximately 75% of the time,
with occasional movement throughout the office to access equipment, supplies, and shared resources.
Daily tasks include consistent use of computers and standard office technology such as keyboards, printers, and multifunction devices. The role also involves transporting equipment boxes weighing up to 25 pounds within the building and to other offsite locations as needed for project support.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise account management, consultative sales, or strategic sales role
Qualifications
- Expertise in managing and expanding a complex IT portfolio aligned with enterprise customer strategies
- Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed revenue targets and maintain exceptional forecast accuracy
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, capable of engaging senior executives and decision-makers
- Advanced knowledge of market research, enterprise sales strategies, and negotiation principles
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools for comprehensive sales performance analysis and reporting
- Exceptional relationship-building skills to lead high-value, long-term enterprise client engagements across all organizational levels
- Strategic business acumen with a focus on enterprise account planning and profitability
- Expertise in numerical, budgeting, and time management, with the ability to mentor junior team members
