HIRING: Scientific Coding Expert – Material Science

Location: Remote

Availability: Full-time (8 hours/day)

Shift: 7:30 PM – 12:30 AM PST + 4 flexible hours

We are looking for a Scientific Coding Expert with strong expertise in Material Science and Python to contribute to an advanced STEM AI training and evaluation project.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop rigorous scientific coding problems with a main problem and 3+ interconnected sub-problems
- Build and implement verified golden solutions in Python
- Create comprehensive unit tests and discriminative test cases
- Validate scientific correctness, determinism, and task quality against strict rubrics
- Review and improve tasks based on QC feedback
- Contribute to AI training and evaluation datasets for frontier LLMs
- Participate in review calls, feedback sessions, and project discussions during overlap hours

Required Skills





- Master’s or PhD in Material Science, Materials Science, or a related STEM field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Solid Python programming and scientific computing skills
- Experience with NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, or similar scientific libraries
- Strong scientific problem-solving and technical writing skills
- Experience in scientific research, AI data annotation, or scientific writing
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks or coding benchmarks is a plus
- Published research or academic project experience in a STEM domain is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with strict quality standards
