Role Overview

Seeking a seasoned Lead SAP ABAP on HANA Consultant with 12+ years of enterprise application development experience. The candidate will lead architecture, design, and development within SAP S/4HANA environments, driving code pushdown techniques using CDS Views, AMDP, and modern ABAP programming models. This role requires hands-on technical depth, architectural ownership, and the ability to mentor mid-to-senior developers while collaborating with cross-functional functional leads and enterprise architects.

Key Responsibilities

- Architecture & Solution Design: Architect end-to-end technical solutions in SAP S/4HANA and ECC-to-S4 migration landscapes, aligning code pushdown principles with the SAP clean core paradigm.
- Core Data Services (CDS) Modeling: Design and implement complex VDM layers (Basic, Interface/Composite, Consumption views) using advanced CDS annotations, table functions, access controls (DCL), and associations.
- HANA Native Development: Develop optimized SQLScript, ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP), and CDS Table Functions to maximize database-layer throughput.
- Modern SAP Development Models: Build and expose transactional/analytical services via RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model) or BOPF, publishing OData V2/V4 services for SAP Fiori/UI5 consumption.
- Performance Engineering & Optimization: Perform rigorous runtime analysis, execution trace, and code tuning using SQL Monitor (SQLM), Plan Visualizer, SAT, ST05, and ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC).
- Technical Leadership & Governance:



Establish development standards, review code for scalability and security, oversee transport lifecycles, and guide development sprints.
- Integrations & Custom Development: Deliver high-complexity enhancements, user exits, BAdIs, BAPIs, Adobe Forms, and standard interface frameworks (REST, SOAP, IDoc, RFC, SAP Event Mesh).

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven track record across at least 2 full life-cycle S/4HANA implementation or migration projects.
- Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) development, CAP (Cloud Application Programming), or ABAP Cloud.
- Formal SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Development Specialist ABAP for SAP HANA, SAP Certified Associate – Back-End Developer - ABAP Cloud).
