ACCESS Development Services
Thane
POSITION: Sales & Marketing Executive
REPORTS TO: Project Manager – Annapurna
LOCATION:Thane / Pune / Raigad (one per district)
LEVEL/GRADE: Coordinator (ECC)
About ACCESS:
ACCESS Development Services is a national livelihoods promotion organization that incubates innovations and builds sustainable models of livelihood promotion for the poor — implementing programmes on the ground (Tier I); partnering civil society, government, the corporate sector and multilateral agencies (Tier II); and shaping national policy and the enabling environment (Tier III). Headquartered in New Delhi, ACCESS works across 14 project offices. More at www.accessdev.org
Project Summary:
Annapurna – Catalysing Women Entrepreneurship in Food Processing is a 36+3-month initiative supported by Bajaj Holdings & Investment Limited, administered by the Bajaj Finserv CSR team, running from 1 August 2026 to 31 October 2029. It works with 12,000 women from 1,200 Self Help Groups across 15 blocks of Thane, Pune and Raigad districts of Maharashtra — 4,000 women, 400 SHGs and 5 Annapurna Resource Centres (ARCs) per district, each ARC serving about 80 SHGs through centralised (at-ARC) and decentralised (home-based) support.
Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods
Mission (UMED) is proposed as a facilitation partner.
Position Summary:
One Officer per district builds the demand side of Annapurna — moving product out of five ARCs into real, repeatable markets. The role covers channel development, buyer relationships, exhibitions and government e-marketplaces, packaging and brand execution, and order-to-delivery discipline. ACCESS is looking for someone who has actually sold food products and can work patiently with first-generation women entrepreneurs on quality, cost and timelines.
Responsibilities:
1. Market Development and Sales
- Map buyers,
channels and price points for the project’s value chains; build a live pipeline of institutional, retail, aggregator and channel-partner buyers
- Secure and service access to SARAS, e-SARAS, Umed Mart, GeM, Womaniya and state exhibition platforms through UMED facilitation
- Negotiate and document buyer terms — volume, price, quality specification, delivery, payment cycle and return liability
- Plan and execute district and state exhibitions, melas, buyer-seller meets and B2B events
2. Product, Packaging and Brand
- Work with the Production Coordinator to convert buyer requirements into product specification, grammage, shelf-life and price
- Coordinate packaging, labelling and the product catalogue in line with FSSAI labelling and legal metrology requirements, and execute the project brand at point of sale — the brand is held by a community institution or producer entity, with ACCESS as custodian during the project term
3. Transaction Discipline and Reporting
- Ensure every sale is transacted by the community institution or enterprise group. Sales revenue must not pass through ACCESS accounts at any stage.
- Maintain buyer agreements, order registers and market transaction records as project means of verification
- Support enterprise-level costing so that women see gross margin, not just turnover, and report monthly on orders, dispatches, realisation and receivables
Education & Experience::
- Graduate in any discipline; MBA or PG in Marketing, Agribusiness or Rural Management preferred
- 3–5 years in sales, distribution or rural marketing, with 3+ years handling food, FMCG, agri-processed or SHG/handicraft products
- Hands-on experience of retail or institutional listing, exhibition sales, and/or e-commerce, ONDC or GeM onboarding; prior work with FPOs, SHG federations or producer collectives is a strong advantage
- Working familiarity with FSSAI labelling, legal metrology, GST and GTIN/barcoding for packaged food
Skills and Competencies:
- Fluency in Marathi essential, with working Hindi and English
- Real negotiation ability and a buyer network that can be called on from day one
- Numerate — comfortable with landed cost, margin, credit period and working capital
- Patience to build the seller’s capability rather than bypass her; two-wheeler with valid license
Travel Requirement: Market and field travel within and outside the assigned district; 15+ field days a month.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is commensurate with industry standards and will be determined based upon the experience set of the candidate and the HR policies of the organization.
