Company Description Thangamayil Jewellery Limited (TMJL) is a fast-growing chain of retail jewellery stores across multiple districts in Tamil Nadu, a state that accounts for a significant share of India’s gold consumption. Originating from a small jewellery shop in Madurai, the company has expanded its presence and product range to include gold, silver, diamonds, and platinum, with gold sales as its primary revenue driver. The flagship store in Madurai spans over 11,000 square feet, and the company now manages more than 65+ showrooms.

Role Description The Sales Manager will oversee day-to-day sales operations at the showroom, ensuring excellent customer service and achieving sales targets. This full time, on-site role includes managing and mentoring the sales team, monitoring performance, and implementing strategies to drive revenue growth for all jewellery product lines.

The Sales

Manager will handle showroom merchandising standards, coordinate promotional activities, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. The role also involves building solid customer relationships, managing high-value transactions with accuracy, and providing timely sales reports and insights to senior management.



Collaboration with inventory and operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels and smooth showroom functioning will be an important part of the role.

Qualifications

- Strong retail sales and customer relationship skills, preferably in jewellery, luxury goods, or related sectors.
- Experience in team leadership, performance management, and staff training within a showroom or store environment.
- Ability to develop and execute local sales strategies, promotions, and upselling or cross-selling initiatives.
- Solid numerical aptitude, with competence in handling cash, billing, and basic reporting tools or POS systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and local languages relevant to Madurai and Tamil Nadu.
- Proven ability to work on-site in a fast-paced retail setting, including weekends and peak festive seasons.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience in retail sales management will be considered.
- Prior experience in jewellery retail or familiarity with gold, silver, diamonds, and platinum products will be an advantage.
