Role Description The Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kheda, responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment across all project locations. The role involves conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

The Safety

Officer will develop and implement safety procedures, deliver training and toolbox talks, and ensure that personal protective equipment and safety signage are appropriately used and maintained. Daily responsibilities include incident reporting, investigating near-misses, maintaining safety records and documentation, and coordinating with project managers, supervisors, and workers to resolve safety issues.



The role also includes supporting emergency preparedness activities, participating in safety meetings, and recommending improvements to enhance overall safety performance.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, regulations, and best practices in construction or infrastructure environments.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, with the ability to document findings and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns for diverse on-site teams.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills to influence safe behaviors and collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and workers.
- Proficiency in maintaining safety documentation, reports, and checklists, and using basic computer applications for record-keeping.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field; recognized safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are an advantage.
- Prior experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Kheda, including visiting different work areas and responding promptly to safety concerns and emergencies.
