Role & responsibilities

Site Safety Management

1. Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with safety procedures and company safety policies.
2. Conduct regular safety inspections of construction sites, buildings, villas, apartments, and infrastructure projects.
3. Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards at the project site.
4. Ensure all workers, supervisors, engineers, and contractors follow established safety guidelines.
5. Implement preventive measures to minimize accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards.
6. Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, and Contractors for effective safety management.

B. Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification
1. Conduct risk assessments for construction activities such as excavation, concreting, shuttering, scaffolding, welding, and lifting operations.
2. Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statement reviews for critical activities.
3. Identify risks associated with working at heights, electrical work, machinery, and material handling.
4. Recommend suitable control measures to eliminate or reduce identified hazards.
5. Ensure high-risk activities are carried out only after proper safety arrangements and approvals.

C. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
1. Ensure all employees, workers, and contractors use mandatory PPE at construction sites.
2. Monitor the usage of safety helmets, safety shoes, reflective jackets, gloves, goggles, harnesses, and other protective equipment.
3. Inspect PPE regularly and arrange replacement of damaged or defective equipment.
4. Conduct awareness sessions on the correct use of PPE.
5. Maintain PPE issue and inspection records.

D. Construction Site Safety Monitoring
1. Inspect scaffolding, ladders, formwork, excavation areas, and temporary structures.
2. Ensure proper barricading, warning signage, and safe access routes at project sites.
3. Monitor safety arrangements for work at height, lifting operations, and construction equipment.
4. Check electrical panels, cables, earthing, and temporary electrical installations for safety concerns.
5.



Ensure proper housekeeping and removal of construction debris.
6. Monitor fire prevention measures and emergency access routes.
7. Report unsafe conditions immediately to the concerned department and follow up on corrective action.

E. Safety Training & Awareness
1. Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings for workers and site staff.
2. Organize induction training for newly joined employees, labourers, and contractors.
3. Conduct training on PPE usage, fire safety, first aid, working at height, and emergency procedures.
4. Promote safety awareness and a positive safety culture across all project sites.
5. Maintain records of safety training, attendance, and employee participation.

F. Incident & Accident Management
1. Report and document accidents, near misses, and unsafe incidents occurring at the construction site.
2. Conduct preliminary investigations to identify the root cause of incidents.
3. Prepare accident investigation reports and recommend preventive measures.
4. Coordinate with management for corrective and preventive actions.
5. Maintain records of incidents, injuries, near misses, and safety observations.
6. Assist in emergency response and evacuation procedures.

G. Safety Documentation & Compliance
1. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspection reports.
2. Maintain safety registers, checklists, training records, and incident reports.
3. Ensure contractor safety documents and permits are maintained properly.
4. Support project audits and safety inspections by management or authorized agencies.
5. Assist in implementing applicable safety and environmental requirements.
6. Monitor compliance with approved safety procedures and project-specific EHS plans.

H. Contractor & Labour Safety
1.



Ensure all contractors and subcontractors follow site safety rules.
2. Conduct safety induction for contract labour and new workers.
3. Verify that workers are using appropriate PPE and safety equipment.
4. Coordinate with labour contractors to resolve safety-related issues.
5. Monitor contractor compliance with safety standards and work permits.
6. Stop or escalate unsafe work where there is an immediate risk to life or serious injury.
7. Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of construction site safety procedures.
- Good understanding of risk assessment and hazard identification.
- Knowledge of PPE, fire safety, first aid, and emergency management.
- Experience in working at height, scaffolding, excavation, and lifting safety.
- Ability to conduct toolbox talks and safety training.
- Good communication and coordination skills.

- Robust observation and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prepare safety reports and maintain documentation.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and applicable statutory requirements.

- Ability to work under pressure in a project-site environment.

1. Educational Qualification & Certifications

Mandatory / Preferred:
- Diploma or Degree in Safety Engineering / Industrial Safety / Civil Engineering or related field.

- Relevant safety certification such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or a recognized Industrial Safety qualification will be an advantage.
- First Aid and Fire Safety training certification preferred.
- Experience in residential, commercial, villa, or infrastructure construction projects.

Preferred candidate profile

- 34 years of relevant experience in the real estate or construction industry.
- Hands-on experience in construction site safety monitoring.

- Experience working with site engineers, project managers, contractors, and labour teams.
- Experience in safety inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident reporting.
- Exposure to residential apartments, villas, commercial buildings, or infrastructure projects preferred.
