Role Overview: We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Mathematics Research Specialist – Algebraic Geometry to work on a full-time basis. In this role, you will contribute directly to frontier AI research by creating, formalizing, and verifying complex mathematical reasoning benchmarks and datasets in algebraic geometry, commutative algebra, and arithmetic geometry for advanced reasoning models.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and author rigorous mathematical problems, theorems, and multi-step proofs in algebraic geometry.
- Verify, formalize, and annotate mathematical steps for correctness, rigor, and logical completeness.
- Construct challenging edge cases and counterexamples to test model capabilities in advanced mathematical reasoning.
- Run QC checks on benchmark problems to guarantee determinism, precise mathematical phrasing, and clarity.
- Collaborate with AI researchers to evaluate model-generated proofs and formal verification workflows (e.g., Lean/Isabelle).

Required Skills & Qualifications:





- PhD or Master’s degree in Mathematics with a specialization in Algebraic Geometry, Commutative Algebra, or related pure mathematics fields.
- Deep theoretical mastery of schemes, varieties, cohomology, algebraic curves/surfaces, and sheaves.
- Demonstrated ability to write publication-grade mathematical proofs and technical specifications in LaTeX.
- Experience with formal proof assistants (Lean, Coq, or Isabelle) or mathematical computation tools (SageMath, Macaulay2) is a plus.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently on rigorous research problems in a remote workplace.
