Job Summary

The Chemical Plant Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining chemical processing equipment and systems to ensure secure, efficient, and continuous plant operations. The role includes handling raw materials, monitoring process parameters, maintaining production records, and following safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate chemical processing equipment such as reactors, pumps, compressors, boilers, distillation columns, and storage tanks.
- Monitor plant parameters including temperature, pressure, flow, and levels through control panels or DCS/SCADA systems.
- Start up and shut down plant equipment as per SOPs.
- Handle chemical loading, unloading, transfer, and batching operations safely.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and pipelines to identify leaks or abnormalities.
- Maintain production logs,



shift reports, and operational records.
- Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and emergency response protocols.
- Coordinate with maintenance and quality departments during breakdowns or process deviations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Perform housekeeping and maintain cleanliness in operating areas.
- Assist in troubleshooting process issues to maintain product quality and production targets.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, fertilizer, or process industries preferred.
- Freshers may be considered for trainee operator positions.

Required Skills:
- Knowledge of chemical plant operations and industrial safety practices.
- Familiarity with pumps, valves, pipelines, and process equipment.
