About the role

Gartner is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer focusing on data engineering and backend services. This person will be a part of team developing and supporting Gartner ‘s client facing experience. This includes supporting all the data related operations within the team. This position will provide an opportunity to work with on several different technologies focusing on data modelling, data services, data science, API and backend services This includes building and consuming web services, integrating search technologies, and building personalization, recommendation engines, data engineering best practices integration.

What You Will do

Backend Design & Development
- Architect, design, and develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, or Python.
- Build and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance web services.System Architecture & Engineering- Participate in architecture design and implementation of high-performance, scalable, and optimized data solutions. Prepare documentations and specificationsData Engineering & Processing




- Build and optimize data processing pipelines using PySpark.
- Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Integrate ML Engineering workflows into production environments.Database & Storage Management
- Design, implement, and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar).
- Utilize various NoSQL storage engines like DynamodB.

Integration & Automation
- Integrate data pipeline, backend services and external APIs.
- Contribute to the automation of development, testing, and deployment processes.

Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product managers, and engineers within an Agile/Scrum framework to define requirements and deliver end-to-end features.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices.
