Position Title - Red Hat Linux Administrator NetApp & Nutanix Infrastructure

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Red Hat Linux Administrator with strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise Linux environments and infrastructure platforms, including NetApp storage and Nutanix virtualization/hyperconverged infrastructure.

The engineer will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, and optimization of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems supporting critical business and production environments. The role requires close collaboration with infrastructure, storage, virtualization, networking, security, application, and database teams.

Scope of Work The contractor/engineer will provide administration and operational support for enterprise Linux infrastructure, including the following:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administration

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers.
- Perform operating system upgrades, patching, and security remediation.
- Troubleshoot Linux operating system, kernel, performance, memory, CPU, disk, and network issues.
- Manage Linux users, groups, permissions, sudo access, and authentication.
- Configure and troubleshoot system services and processes.
- Manage filesystems, LVM, multipathing, and disk storage.
- Configure and maintain NFS and other required storage services.
- Support system boot, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor system health, capacity, performance, and availability.
- Perform root cause analysis for complex infrastructure incidents.

Automation and Configuration Management

- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible.
- Create and maintain playbooks, roles, inventories, and automation workflows.
- Automate server provisioning, configuration, patching, and operational tasks.
- Develop shell scripts using Bash and other scripting languages as required.
- Improve operational efficiency through infrastructure automation.

NetApp Storage Administration

- Support Linux integration with NetApp storage environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot NFS and other supported storage connectivity.
- Assist with storage provisioning and filesystem expansion.
- Troubleshoot storage performance and connectivity issues.
- Work with storage administrators to support Linux server storage requirements.
- Understand NetApp concepts including volumes, aggregates, snapshots, replication, and storage access.





Nutanix Administration and Integration

- Support Linux workloads running on Nutanix AHV and VMware infrastructure.
- Assist with Linux virtual machine provisioning and configuration.
- Troubleshoot Linux VM performance, network, and storage connectivity issues.
- Work with Nutanix administrators on infrastructure capacity and performance issues.
- Understand Nutanix Prism and AHV/VMware concepts.
- Support migration and lifecycle activities involving Linux virtual machines.

Security and Compliance

- Apply Linux security best practices and security hardening standards.
- Support vulnerability remediation and patch management.
- Configure and troubleshoot SELinux.
- Support security tools, endpoint protection, and system monitoring agents.
- Maintain compliance with organizational security policies and procedures.
- Participate in security audits and remediation activities.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting

- Monitor Linux infrastructure and respond to system alerts and incidents.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across Linux, storage, virtualization, and networking.
- Perform root cause analysis and document findings.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Provide technical escalation support for production systems.

Required Skills and Experience The candidate must have:

- Strong hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Experience with RHEL 7, 8, and preferably RHEL 9.
- Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.

- Solid Bash scripting skills.




- Ability to troubleshoot issues involving Linux, networking, storage, and virtualization.

Preferred Skills The following experience is preferred:

- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite.
- Experience with Nutanix Prism Central.
- Experience with VMware environments.
- Knowledge of Python scripting.
- Experience with LDAP, Active Directory integration, or SSSD.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience supporting Oracle, database, or enterprise application environments.

Key Deliverables The contractor/engineer will be expected to deliver:

1. Stable and properly maintained Red Hat Linux infrastructure.
2. Timely patching and remediation of Linux systems.
3. Automation of repetitive administration tasks using Ansible.
4. Resolution of Linux infrastructure incidents within agreed service levels.
5. Documentation of Linux configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting activities.
6. Support for NetApp storage integration and connectivity.
7. Support for Linux workloads running on Nutanix infrastructure.
8. Recommendations for infrastructure improvements, automation, security, and operational efficiency.
9. Knowledge transfer and technical documentation for internal IT teams.

Estimated Experience Level Required Experience: 5+ years of enterprise Linux administration.

Preferred Experience: 7+ years supporting enterprise infrastructure environments with Linux, storage, virtualization, and automation.
