Position: Quality Engineer

Job Location: Navi Mumbai

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure quality compliance across fabrication, assembly, welding, and manufacturing activities as per approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of fabricated equipment and assemblies.
- Review and verify material certificates, inspection reports, welding records, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with fabricators, subcontractors, production, engineering, and project teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Monitor welding, fabrication, dimensional accuracy, fit-up, surface preparation, painting/coating, and other relevant processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, codes, specifications, and statutory requirements.
- Raise and track NCRs, deviations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure effective closure.
- Support customer/client inspections, third-party inspections, and quality audits as required.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports,



test certificates, and project quality documentation.
- Identify recurring quality issues and drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Escalate critical quality concerns to the Quality/Plant Head and relevant Discipline Head for timely resolution and ensure adherence to the company’s Quality Management System.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical, Production Engineering, or related discipline, with 6 - 10 years’ experience in quality inspection/engineering, preferably in fabrication, manufacturing, EPC, or water treatment.
- Hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, piping, structural work, equipment inspection, WPS/PQR, NDT, dimensional inspection, and coating/painting.
- Knowledge of ASME, AWS, ASTM, API, IS/ISO standards, along with experience in NCRs, CAPA, root-cause analysis, audits, and quality documentation will be preferred
- Ability to read engineering drawings/P&IDs; and coordinate effectively with fabricators, subcontractors, production, engineering, and project teams. Willingness to work in a fabrication/shop-floor setting and travel to fabricator locations, where required.
- Preferred Certifications: CSWIP / AWS Welding Inspector, NDT Level II (VT, PT, MT, UT), Coating Inspector Certification, and ISO 9001 Internal Auditor.
