Job Summary The Purchase Engineer is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing materials, components, and services required for laser machine manufacturing and operations. The role involves vendor development, cost negotiation, inventory coordination, and ensuring timely availability of quality materials to support production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and procure mechanical, electrical, and electronic components used in laser cutting machines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate commercial terms to achieve cost savings.
- Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company procedures.
- Coordinate with production, quality, stores, and engineering departments regarding material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of critical items.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and service.
- Identify and develop alternative suppliers for key materials and components.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with technical specifications and quality standards.




- Track delivery schedules and follow up with suppliers to avoid production delays.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and vendor documentation.
- Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in laser machine manufacturing, industrial machinery, or automation equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical fabrication parts, sheet metal components, motors, drives, optics, electrical panels, and electronic components.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Positive analytical, communication, and coordination abilities.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with laser cutting machine components and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of technical drawings and BOM (Bill of Materials).
- Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production timelines.
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems and procurement procedures.
