About the Role

Ishan World is building an integrated Digital Operating Platform to transform its complete business ecosystem, covering:

ERP | CRM | Retail/POS | B2B & B2C | Inventory | Purchase | Vendor Management | Logistics | Projects | HRMS | Finance Integrations | Customer & Partner Portals | Mobile Applications | Analytics | AI | Automation | Enterprise Integrations A substantial business architecture, requirement repository and initial software platform are already in place.

We are looking for an experienced Project Head – Digital Transformation & Enterprise Technology who can take end-to-end ownership of the existing programme and lead it through technical validation, ERP evaluation, architecture finalisation, development, integration, testing, implementation and production rollout.

This is NOT a conventional IT Manager role.

The selected candidate will be expected to take technical and execution ownership across:

Existing Software Open-Source ERP Custom Applications APIs Data Infrastructure AI Technical Team Testing Deployment The candidate will initially evaluate Odoo Community, ERPNext/Frappe and the existing Ishan World platform and recommend the most technically suitable, scalable and economical architecture.

The decision should be based on business requirements and technical suitability—not simply on prior familiarity with a particular ERP.

Key Responsibilities

- Take complete ownership of the existing digital transformation programme.
- Understand and evaluate the existing software, architecture, GitHub repositories and development history.
- Review the current Django/Python/PostgreSQL platform and existing custom development.
- Review previous Odoo implementation/configuration wherever applicable.
- Map approved business requirements against existing systems and identify gaps.
- Conduct a detailed Odoo Community vs ERPNext/Frappe vs Existing Platform fit-gap analysis.




- Recommend the final technology and ERP architecture, including cost-to-complete and long-term ownership considerations.
- Identify what should be reused, configured, integrated or newly developed.
- Lead ERP, backend, web/mobile, API, AI and integration development.
- Manage and mentor a lean internal technical team.
- Coordinate and technically supervise external consultants/vendors where required.
- Own testing, UAT, data migration, deployment, go-live and post-go-live stabilisation.
- Establish strong practices around Git/GitHub, code review, documentation, CI/CD and release management.
- Oversee Linux/server, database, security and infrastructure architecture.
- Ensure appropriate authentication, permissions, data security and system controls.
- Control unnecessary customisation, duplication and technology costs.
- Ensure business requirements and processes are accurately translated into scalable software solutions.
- Build an integrated, modular and scalable enterprise technology ecosystem.

Required Experience

- 7–10 years of experience in ERP, enterprise software, digital transformation or technology leadership.
- Experience managing at least 2 significant end-to-end ERP/enterprise-system implementations.
- Proven experience from requirement gathering to development, testing, implementation and go-live.
- Strong experience with at least one major ERP or open-source ERP platform.
- Experience leading developers and technical resources.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, databases, APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Ability to independently evaluate technical solutions and make architecture-level decisions.

Technical Skills

Strong working knowledge of several of the following:

- Odoo and/or ERPNext/Frappe
- Python
- Django or comparable backend frameworks
- PostgreSQL / SQL / MariaDB
- REST APIs & system integrations
- Git / GitHub
- Linux / Ubuntu
- Docker




- Web & mobile application architecture
- Authentication & access control
- Data migration and database management
- Enterprise integrations
- AI APIs / LLM-based solutions
- Automation platforms

Experience with both Odoo and ERPNext is preferred but not mandatory.

We value strong technical judgement, enterprise architecture experience and execution capability more than expertise in only one ERP platform.

- Someone who recommends an ERP only because they are familiar with it.
- Someone who heavily customises standard ERP functionality unnecessarily.
- Someone who starts development without understanding business requirements.
- Someone who accepts incomplete testing or weak deployment practices.
- Someone who creates isolated systems or duplicate masters.
- Someone who is completely dependent on external vendors for technical understanding.
