Reporting to: Head, PALNA
Delhi Council for Child Welfare (DCCW) is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to child welfare since 1952. For over 70 years, DCCW has worked towards its mission of “giving underprivileged children a childhood and a future” by daily supporting 4,000+ abandoned and underprivileged children across Delhi through a range of programs and services. PALNA, its flagship program is a home for abandoned children and is also a Specialised adoption agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage MIS, case files and documentation of children under the Specialised Adoption Agency.
- Ensure timely and accurate uploading/updating of documents on the CARA portal.
- Ensure strict compliance with the JJ Act, Adoption Regulations and latest CARA guidelines.
- Coordinate with CWC, DCPO, Police and other authorities to complete required procedures and facilitate children being declared legally free for adoption.
- Conduct home and spot visits, particularly for newly admitted older children, and document findings.
- Assist eligible older adoptees in root search,
ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Develop an After-Care Support Group for adoptive parents, older adoptees and children restored to their biological families.
- Monitor adoption and child-welfare cases, identify delays and ensure timely follow-up.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, child protection standards and a child-centred approach in all activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in child welfare, adoption, rehabilitation, or social development programmes within NGOs, child care institutions, or government agencies is preferred.
- Knowledge of child welfare laws and rehabilitation services
- Solid written and verbal communication skills in both Hindi and English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience and aligned with NGO sector benchmarks in India.
