OVERVIEW

We are seeking an academically accomplished and experienced Assistant Professor – IT & Computing to join a leading university in Bangladesh.

The role will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting academic research, supervising student projects, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting the overall academic development of the Computing and IT faculty.

The ideal candidate should have a completed PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with 5–7 years of progressive academic and/or professional experience.

Candidates with strong experience in university teaching, academic research, publications, student supervision, curriculum development, and relevant IT/Computing industry exposure will be preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, seminars, and academic sessions in IT, Computing, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Develop, review, and update course content, curriculum, teaching materials, assessments, and academic resources.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, dissertations, research projects, and academic work.
- Conduct high-quality academic and applied research within the field of Computing and Information Technology.
- Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed international journals and conferences.
- Contribute to research projects, grants, publications, and cooperative research initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong academic and professional relationships with universities, research institutions, technology companies, and industry partners.
- Provide academic guidance, mentoring, and career support to students.
- Participate in faculty meetings, academic committees, accreditation activities, programme reviews, and university initiatives.




- Contribute to the development and implementation of new academic programmes, modules, and teaching methodologies.
- Stay updated with emerging developments and technologies within the IT and Computing industry.
- Support the faculty in strengthening its research profile, academic quality, industry engagement, and international collaborations.
- Participate in conferences, seminars, workshops, and other academic and professional activities.
- Support student recruitment, academic events, workshops, and university promotional initiatives where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of teaching quality, student learning outcomes, research output, and academic standards.
- Collaborate with other faculty members on multidisciplinary teaching and research initiatives.
- Maintain accurate academic records, course documentation, research information, and student-related documentation.
- Support the university's overall academic, research, innovation, and institutional development objectives.

PRE-REQUISITES
- Completed PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Computing, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in university teaching, academic research, professional IT/Computing roles, or a combination of academic and industry experience.
- Current or recent experience as an Assistant Professor, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Researcher, or equivalent academic/professional position will be highly preferred.




- Strong experience in university-level teaching and academic delivery.
- Proven experience in academic research, research projects, publications, and conference participation.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and/or reputable international conferences will be advantageous.
- Experience supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate projects, dissertations, or research students.
- Strong academic or professional exposure to one or more areas of Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Computer Networks, Information Systems, IoT, or related disciplines.
- Relevant professional / industry exposure within the IT and Computing sector will be strongly preferred.
- Experience with curriculum development, course design, assessment development, and academic quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of current and emerging IT and Computing technologies, research trends, and industry developments.
- Experience working with international academic institutions, research collaborations, or industry partnerships will be advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in academic writing, research methodology, presentations, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students and contribute positively to their academic and professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multicultural and international academic environment.
- Strong commitment to teaching excellence, academic research, innovation, and continuous professional development.
- Ability to contribute effectively to the university's research, academic, industry engagement, and institutional development objectives.
- Willingness to participate in academic events, conferences, workshops, research activities, and university initiatives as required.
